Spring

Ever growing demand for technology and persistent trends towards impulsive consumerism are straining supply chains, leading to material waste and unjustified costs to consumers.

Spring is dedicated to building a circular tech economy, providing a user-friendly platform for trading old devices and obtaining newly refurbished ones through subscriptions.

To secure further investment, Spring needed to validate product-market fit by matching unmet customer needs with the inherent advantages of a circular model.

Circularity challenges traditional notions of ownership. Why own a device that you plan to sell or responsibly recycle within a few years?

Spring shifts the focus to access, rather than ownership. Technology serves as an enabler, a tool connecting consumers to friends, education, entertainment, and more. Unfortunately, conventional methods of access involve expensive and restrictive elements, such as long-term payment plans, high up-front costs, slow and intricate repair processes, and diminishing performance, creating friction for consumers.

Spring offers an alternative; flexible subscription to refurbished tech. The service provides complete freedom to swap or stop subscriptions any time, all facilitated by a network of drop-off pods and reusable pouches.

As Product Lead, I was responsible for validating and expanding Spring’s value proposition in order to ensure a lean and targeted launch in the market. My team was tasked with creating a series of experiments, trials, research activities and prototypes to build evidence of market traction in order to secure further investment.
